"I sense that you still have unresolved feelings from your time in the Delta Quadrant."
"You're mistaken."
"Admiral Janeway, for you to achieve closure - "
"Closure? My First Officer - my best friend - died just as we finally came home! I lost the other half of my soul and you want me to find closure?"
- from the transcripts of Counselor Troi 2396
We know the date of Chakotay's death - 2394 - the same year Voyager returned home after 23 years in the Delta Quadrant. But The Powers That Be never told us what happened to him. We were left to wonder. And suffer with no sense of closure.
Write a story that tells us what happened to Chakotay. Was his death heroic or meaningless? And was it the real reason Admiral Janeway took her trip through time? Give us that feeling of peace and closure TPTB denied us.
The results are in!
